Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the TLDR website at https://tldr.cool, the TLDR iOS application, and related Safari and Chrome surfaces (the “Service”), operated by Riley Ventures LLC, d/b/a Acme Studio. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

IMPORTANT: Section “Disputes” contains a binding individual arbitration agreement and class-action waiver, with a 30-day opt-out.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for your Apple ID and for activity on devices where TLDR is installed or enabled.

You agree not to share accounts, abuse Mode or Watchers to harass others, or attempt to access another person’s interests or briefings without authority.

License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store terms, and to use related web surfaces and this site for personal, non-commercial purposes.

• Do not reverse engineer, resell, or scrape the Service except as allowed by law.
• Do not use the Service to harass others, commit fraud, or violate law.
• Do not attempt to bypass paywalls, fabricate receipts, or interfere with other users’ accounts.
• Do not submit unlawful content or content you do not have rights to share.

What TLDR does (and does not)

TLDR is a consumer information filter. You teach it what matters (Watchers, shares, Mode destinations). It produces finite briefings and related intercepts intended to reduce unnecessary checking.

TLDR does not claim to read private DMs or every private feed item from third-party apps. It is not a complete archive of the internet, not a journalistic news organization, and not a guarantee you will never miss something. See the Product Disclaimer.

Subscriptions

Paid features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions billed through the App Store. Prices, plan length, and any trial appear before you confirm purchase. Your first personalized TLDR during onboarding may be free as described in the app; ongoing Pro access requires a subscription.

Apple, not TLDR, charges your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. See the Billing & Refunds page.

Summaries, estimates, and third-party sources

Briefings, summaries, Mode answers, and “time saved” or similar receipts are product experiences. They may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Figures labeled estimated are illustrative, not lab measurements or financial accounting.

TLDR may rely on public sources and third-party model providers. We do not control third-party sites or apps, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies.

Availability and limitations

We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, that every destination can be intercepted on every OS or browser version, or that Mode will appear before every check. Features depend on permissions you grant, platform rules, and network conditions. Features may change.

Intellectual property and feedback

TLDR, the aperture mark, and site content are owned by us or our licensors. If you send feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it without obligation.

Disclaimers and liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST TIME, DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR PROFITS.

Disputes

Governing law: the State of Florida, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Informal resolution first: email legal@tldr.cool. If unresolved, binding individual arbitration, with a class-action waiver. You may opt out within 30 days of first agreeing by emailing legal@tldr.cool with subject “Arbitration Opt-Out.” Small-claims court and IP injunctions are excepted.

Termination and changes

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or abuse the Service. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted with a new date.
